The Hiding Place

There is  a place deep within each man, that once hid the chains forged by mindless sin and brittle laughter.

Hidden, yet a part of man, this place was dank and dark with sin, before God’s cleansing Light shined in.

Each day man failed to call on God, was one day lost to sin and yet, how oft man fails to invite Him in.

His love was such, Christ gave His life to reclaim mine, behold He knocks at your door will you let Him in?

Incessant is the siren call that entices mortal man to sin, but yielding to this makes certain Death your soul shall win.

Death’s specter waits with scythe in hand to harvest sinful man, this he’ll do if you fail to grab God’s hand.

In that hidden place within the heart, lies a tiny dormant seed, the repository of God’s will that man would be freed.

Now, all it takes, is your request that Christ will enter in and eternal life will be yours along with freedom from sin.

God’s omnipotent love will not force it way in, because it’s your heart He asks to win.

Potent is the gift of God’s great love, yours to claim, if only you would open up the hiding place within.

Love, made man, did venture forth to bring eternal life to flourish from that little,  seemingly insignificant seed.

Although I tried to hide in shame, Christ’s love ventured forth absolving me from sin‘s  eternal blame.

Christ’s unfettered love so warm and bright saved me in that blessed hour I first believed.

Eternal life was granted me, when Lord, your love, brought into light, the hiding place wherein I hid from Thee.
