Savior of mankind, Jesus You came into the world as a
humble earthly being.
Omnipotent, yet You allowed Your death at man’s hands to
reclaim lost mankind and me.
Death could not possibly see that victory in You, Jesus,
was what was meant to be.
Entombed, enclosed by stone and chain, casting all off
in triumph, Jesus, You rose again.
Salvation began with Your birth, Lord Jesus, that man’s
rebirth could be won.
Publicly reviled and sinfully despised, You gave Your
life, so we’d gain heaven’s prize.
In Your suffering, death and resurrection, was gained
salvation for every nation.
Saved by God’s loving grace, reborn by no ability of our
own, we’re no longer alone.
Earthly desires run counter to Your will, yet Your love
continues with us still.
Demands of earthly life pull us away, but Your loving
grace is available to us every day.
Blameless, Lamb of God, you were slain for me, so I
might in heaven eventually be.
You willfully gave up Your divine life in pain, that I
Your blessed graces gain.
Taking on the punishments of sin earned by man’s
graceless fall, Your love saved us all.
Holy Spirit come walk with me least I fall again,
without You all my life’s efforts are in vain.
Eternal God how blind we are, for we oft fail to see,
that victory in Jesus is where we ought to be.
Worldly delights divert our lives onto jagged rocks of
sin, Lord I pray safely guide us in.
Oh God of life I pray; Thy Word, shunned by the
world, enters me today.
Redemption is a necessity in this errant world, for when
man fell, his path led from You to hell.
Lord, led by your love, I shall be reclaimed and from
earthly chains relieved.
Detach us from these worldly chains that in You we may
be free, oh Lord, I humbly ask of Thee.
