Comporting one’s self with self-satisfaction, so sure
that one looks askance to the stumbling of another.
Observing loudly how great thy workings appear to be,
when compared to others like thee.
Making self serving remarks as to the glory amassed by
your fellowship’s work.
Placing your deeds before all to see, quietly shouting;
hey everyone, look at me.
Loving your neighbor when it suits thee, this is not
what Jesus decreed it should be.
All things considered, under man’s control, the
trappings of love are false and rather droll.
Come empty thy hands of human control, for such is
temporary and soon will unfold.
Each act that we do in the grasping of praise, will soon
unravel in the light of God’s gaze.
Now return your focus to where it is due, let Jesus the
Lord, lead you through.
Christ paid the price to return man to grace, without
Him you’ll never complete life’s race.
Yeshua arose from the dead, that seated at God’s table
man could be forever fed.
